Finding anything……is hard, LOL. Finding time to myself, time to hang out with friends, time to shower….I could go on! I have been so busy lately. I am thankful to God for blessing me so much and I wouldn’t change anything that has come my way but I am soooo sorry for my blog negligence 😦 I spent 2 months in Baltimore, Maryland recently and had a blast. I was there for work, of course, but having the opportunity to shoot with another photographer, a very talented wedding photographer from Atlanta, was a really fun experience. I practiced a little nightime street photography, what can I say? I am an artist at heart and as much as I love to photograph babies, families, and children, I still see photography as an art and I love to photograph even the most mundane of things. You can check out some of my Baltimore/Washington pics on my facebook page. So back to my point. Finding your own. I’m working on that. I still work fulltime. I don’t ever plan to quit my fulltime job until I retire…and that is at least 25 years away 🙂 I love my job. I serve Veteran’s. As a Veteran myself, I strive for ambition, hard work, dedication. But my career does not define me. I am also a mother, a knitter, a historian, a political scientist, and (gasp) a photographer. To say that I cannot be all of these things is ludicrous. This is my life and I will only live it once. I am a professional, I take pride in all that I do. I applaud individuals who set goals and reach them. Who don’t limit themselves to what others say they must be. Be and continue to Be, that is my motto. There are no rules that say I cannot do all I set out to do. Let your talent and work speak for you, never justify yourself to others. I will continue to do what I love and provide my clients as much devoted attention as possible, creating photographic memories that they will cherish for a lifetime.
That’s right. An amazing giveaway by an amazing photographer. As I sip my non alcoholic mock drink tonight to ring in the New Year, I think what a way to ring in the New Year! So go on over and enter….you won’t regret it. I had the amazing luck of a 1-on-1 mentoring session with CRAVE this summer. I learned so much and I am still looking back at all of my notes! Andee (sorry if I misspelled that 🙂 is such a great person, a true inspiration!

I’ve been battling a cold since friday and it’s no way to spend Christmas 🙂 I promised a while ago that when I hit 700 Facebook fans I would give away a custom OOAK newborn bonnet made by me 🙂 I have happily surpassed that number and I am just so grateful for all of the support I have around the world from individuals, photographers, and others! To win this bonnet, simply follow my blog, leave a comment…you can leave up to four 🙂 and I will choose a winner from random and post a screenshot of that number as well tomorrow at 7pm CST. I want everyone to have a chance to see the post on FB so let’s play!
The year is wrapping up and I’ve been reflecting on how far I have come. I officially created Dina Weiher Photography in January of 2011, and through blood, sweat, and tears we are getting ready to begin year #2! Looking back, I have learned so much but I also feel like I am just biting the tip of knowledge that is to come. Photography is not just about knowing the technical formalities…it’s also about experience and experience cannot be bought on etsy or pinned on pinterest. I was looking through some of the first photos I took with my DSLR in January and although the subjects are amazing and beautiful in themselves, I cringe to look at the photo because all I can say is “What was I thinking??????”, but I am grateful for these photos because they remind me of how far I have come and how much farther I have to go. Mistakes are valuable tools because they teach us what NOT to do next time 🙂 So here is a look back at the best and worst of 2011……night and day.
The Blog. And it begins………..LOL. So I’ve taken the plunge and started a blog. Nothing here to find but crickets today, but please come back in the coming days, weeks, and months to see new photos, inspiration, tips, on everything I love about photography, even a little about who I am….eccentric, eclectic….loved 🙂
